Given that so many wars have started, and continue because of religious beliefs, I would say religion is extremely important in society. Anything that can evoke the kind of passion necessary to maintain the level of intensity needed to sustain a war is important.

I certainly hope so. It is to me anyway. Religion has done more good for the world than the absence of religion.

yes it is very important. but i think that other religions are not practiced throughout the day and everyday like islam, which is the way of life.

Sure...what do you think that all the fighting and chaos in the middle east is all about...If you believe in something bad enough that you would die for it, then it might be pretty important to someone.
