Starting feeling ill on Friday night, then all day yesterday I felt run down, tired, had headaches, sore throat, swollen glands and everything ached. like some kind of bug that is going round. I thought i was getting better,i could eat yesterday, but today i just kept throwing it all up! I ate soup and that came up, drank water and that came up. My tummy is completely empty, i am hungry but still feel really ill. I was sick before and everything i ate had come up. Then about an hour later, was just sick. went for a sleep, then woke up everytime i moved, felt really sick in my stomach. so i had to make myself be sick to make the feeling go. Hardly anything came up. my throat is killing me. any suggestions on the time when ill be better? is it a 24 hour bug? im going away next weekend to prague and really need to be better. What can i drink or maybe eat that i wont throw up? is orange juice good? its liquids and has vitamin c in? help! feel terrible!! x

Eat nothing for 24 hours.
Drink nothing for the next two or three hours. Get some 7up and keep shaking and opening it to get the fizz out, then take some small sips of that. If that comes up, drink nothing until tomorrow morning.
The idea is to let the bug run through your system. If you keep eating, you keep feeding the bacteria and you keep feeling sick.
You should feel better by morning, or about 24 hours after you last ate, then you can start back with toast and tea, continue with the 7 up for tomorrow, and tomorrow night have something low fat and easy to digest, and that should be the end of it.
If you're still throwing up tomorrow, it's time to see your GP.

There is a lovely nasty bug going round - I had it at start of November - was so sick I could hardly stand by mid morning. It should pass - just take on clear fluids for the rest of the day then small amounts of very bland stuff tomorrow - oatcakes worked for me - don't eat too much in one go either or it will come back on you. The day after tomorrow you should pretty much be back to normal - take a hot water bottle to bed with you get your head down and sleep it off. Don't bother your GP unless you have been continually violently vomiting for more than 48hrs or unable to take some small clear fluids. Get well soon x

Get a doctor of medicine to visit you now. I suspect Glandular Fever. This can be nasty.
Eat toast. Soups can be good also. Get a friend to nip out and get some tinned soups from the local corner shop. Drink oodles of water, to prevent dehydration and to facilitate the functioning of the kidneys.
I'd forget Prague, if I were you. You will still be too washed out (and possibly still infectious) to enjoy this vibrant city.
Get a Doctor of Medicine to you pronto, and keep out of everyone's way, or you'll give your lurgy to the world at large.
If you have problems getting a Doctor (MD) out to you, tell him a Paramedic advised you to ask for a visit. Paramedics are medically trained, not to the same extent as Doctors, but Doctors do trust Paramedics. Do it NOW!!

Here's what worked for me last time I was sick: Mix the water with a tiny bit of salt and sugar, and take really small sips until you're sure you can keep it down. When I tried drinking plain water or tea it all just came back up. You need to rehydrate your body, and re-balance your electrolytes. The salt and sugar will help with that. If that sounds gross, try and get Powerade or Gatorade, and take tiny sips of that too. Feel better!

Please follow these instruction step by step:
1- Do you have Hard Sugar? If not, buy from supermarket; and drop a big piece of that in a cup of hot water, or tea, and drink at least three cups within two hours.
2- IF you could not find Hard Sugar; take eight spoon of Honey, within two hours and continue for several next days;
3- No milk, No beer, No tomato, No Cucumber, No Meat for next few days
4- You can eat only Garlic, a Lot of Walnuts, Chicken, and Bananas...for next six days.

Usually a good rule to go by is if you are not significantly better in 3 days that you need to see a doctor. In the meantime stick to clear liquids. No juice, coffee or solid food. Take care.

cool boiled water, take tiny sips often. This tricks the brain/stomach so you will manage to drink some liquid and keep it down. Also it will stop you becoming dehydrated. Not sure about all the other symptoms, see the doctor,
good luck x

I wouldn't start off with OJ, it's too acidic, and will upset your tummy again. When you want to eat, I would start off with clear liquids, like flat ginger ale, chicken broth, and dry toast. You have to try your best to stay hydrated, that's the biggest worry you have. Try gatorade, or some other sports drink also.
I hope you're feeling better soon. :)
