If God is everywhere, then you don't need to go to church. But going to church to be seen, as some people do, is meaningless (Matthew 6:5-6): "And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and the street corners...go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret." There is also a growing number of people who are going to churches for entertainment value, which in my opinion is also wrong.
If I went to church, which I don't, I wouldn't want to step near one of those churches with "Contemporary Christian" type singing, etc. I think it is more of a dignified worship to go to a church with hymns and either a piano or organ for the music.

You don't have to go to church to worship. You can worship anywhere you feel comfortable, whether it's with 1000 other people in a church or completely by yourself in the middle of a field. You can worship in your living room watching a televangelist or in a cafe with your closest friends. Point is.... if you want to worship, I can't imagine that God will care WHERE you worship, just as long as you are.

LOL Very humorous , all those Christians asserting they might in no way serve God through hazard of hell .LOL Why did churches pontificate fire & brimstone ? How did they get uneducated pesants to worship & area with there no longer common earned money ? by scarring them to dying with hell & in specific circumstances killing them if that did no longer artwork . eternal hell is barely taught to scare human beings into being solid . Hell in the bible is sleep. there is not any different achieveable reason. Ecc 9:5 &6 5 For the residing understand that they are going to die, however the ineffective understand no longer something; they have not any added advantages, or maybe the reminiscence of them is forgotten. 6 Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long for the reason that vanished; in no way back will they have a ingredient in something that occurs below the solar. LOL those Christians have short techniques of what there churches have completed.

As long as your mind and heart are in the right place that's all that matters, a lot of people that go to church cant even tell you what was said at mass 10 minutes after they leave.

where many people here are saying you dont have to go to church, i disagree.
Church is a place to fellowship with other Christians, and meet people that are walking with God and are in the same place as you. They are right, you can worship God with anything you do to please God and be with him and give everything to Him, I think God wants to put you in a place with other believers also. For your benefit, by having others help guide you, but also for others benefit with your prescence. We are apart of God's body. We need a church family with us, so we can see all that God's body is doing. Also, church gives us a great oppurtunity to serve God. One user said that Jesus said to go alone and pray. Yes this is true, Jesus wants you to have time alone, solitude, and silence one of the disiplines, but he also wants us to have fellowship with other believers. I say , you should pray to God, and ask him to guide you in whether you should go to church or not. Church is a place to fellowship, and learn about God in more depth.

worship wherever you choose, wherever you feel that it is appropriate. The benefit of going to a special building with other believers is that there is a sense of community and fellowship. You can also talk religion with others of your faith. Beyond that, I do not think that it truly matters.

Deuteronomy 12:5-8--
5 But YOU ARE TO SEEK THE HABITATION OF YOUR FATHER; THE HOUSE OF YAHWEH--the place which Yahweh your Father shall choose out of all your tribes to establish His Name--and THERE YOU MUST GO.
Not a church but your Father's House!
ISAYAH 2:2-6
2. It will come to pass in the last days, that the mountain; promotion, of The House of Yahweh will be established (CAUSING HIS NAME TO DWELL THERE) in the chief of the nations (THE UNITED STATES IS THE CHIEF OF THE NATIONS RIGHT NOW), and will be raised above all congregations; and all nations will eventually flow to it.
3. And many people will go and say; Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the House of the Father of Yaaqob, and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For the Law will depart from Zion, and the word of Yahweh will depart from Yerusalem.
4. He will judge among the nations, and will rebuke many people; they will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.
5. O house of Yaaqob, come and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.
6. You have forsaken your people, the house of Yaaqob, because they are filled with customs from the east; they are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they are pleased in the children of strangers.
6 There you must bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes, and special gifts you have vowed to give, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.
7 There, in front of Yahweh your Father, you and your families shall eat, and you shall rejoice in all that you have put your hand to do, because Yahweh your Father has blessed you.
8 YOU MUST NOT AT ALL DO AS WE ARE DOING HERE THIS DAY--EVERY MAN DOING WHATEVER IS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES.
I TIMOTHY 3:15
But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know the right and proper way to conduct yourself in THE HOUSE OF YAHWEH, who are the called out ones of the living Father, the pillar and ground of the truth

Church is optional but recommended, because it helps you strengthen your faith with others who share the same faith. But you don't have to.
