Blindness, tumors and middle/inner ear infections are all possibilities as mentioned already. More commonly when I see these signs in a cat, it turns out to be a neurologic problem. This can also be from a tumor or it can be degenerative changes. I hope it is something that can be solved.

It's kind of like me posting a question on here about having someone help me do a root canal. Of course we are going to tell you to take it to the vet. You are doing that already, so I don't even understand why you posted this question at all. Balance problems can be neurologic, visual, etc.. Your cat could have had a stroke or a recent seizure, or any number of other things. Based on her age, she may have this forever, it may be an inner ear infection, or something else. Could be a brain tumor, cancer, cataracts, who knows. GL at the vet.

our cat is 20 and is bumping into everything she has also started not going into her litter tray, we took her to the vet and she said her heart is healthy, But she has cataracts and it looks as if because her eyes are slightly blood shot it maybe some think to do with her brain .... Its all so painfully sad to see her like this .. My trouble is that Morgana is my Boyfriends cat and I think it is so horrid too see her like this ... I think she should be able to go too sleep but he is in total denial. He just not want to see how bad it is .. She is still drinking and eating but to see her everyday like this I am finding it so hard and am now starting to feel my partner is being selfish too allow her to carry on like this she falls a sleep anywhere, just drops and she gets really moody if you holder to long she just seems so unhappy . But when I tell him its unfair he just gets upset , and tells me it his cat ... Sorry I hope people don't mind me writing all this you all seemed to have cats so I just wondered if I am being unfair ...

The cat probably has something wrong with its eyes.If its bumping into walls it probably cant see right. Dont try and take anything out of its eye because if you think something is stuck in her eye and you try and remove it then you might hurt her permenently. Just for now watch out for her now incase she bumps into anything pick her up and move her away from that object. Good luck!

Yes, check your cats whiskers, those are what keep you cat balanced. If any are cut or broken, you'll have to just wait it out and let them heal. If not, it could be that your cat is overweight.

sounds like you are already taking her to the vet, so what does it matter what we say. You are doing the right thing. She could have something as minor as an ear infection, or she could have a tumor. good luck.
