i have long hair i guess, its like 4 inches below my shoulders. i want my hair to smell good, like shampoo. i tried lots of shampoos and tried keeping it in for like 5 minutes but the smell always wares off by the time it dries, even if i dont straighten or blowdry it or anything.
any suggestions?

REALLY?!Yall can't get the smell of the shampoo to stay in your hair I get compiments all the time"wow,your hair smells really good,wat do u use..." I can keep the smell in my hair try dove products!

A great smelling shampoo, conditioner, and leave- in in the same fragrance. Maybe try herbal essences. They have the best smelling products, IMO. Some fragrance companies, such as Clinique, and Sephora, make , shampoo and conditioner specifically for the hair, in their fragrances, like Clinique happy. Bath and Body Works have frangrance sprays for the hair, too.
If you can afford all this stuff, you can get a little essential oil (jasmine, lavender, lemon) and mix it with olive oil, mix this together in a spray bottle with some distilled water and spray your hair with it after you wash and condition. This should last as well.
Conditioners are very important to the hair. Don't just shampoo, condition as well.

buy a good smelling shampoo and conditioner. Don't cover up the smell with a lot of other hair products

I use Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner by AVEDA. It has a nice, fresh smell all the time! You can find it at aveda.com or at your nearest AVEDA salon.

Find a anti frizz cream or a leave in conditioner from Herbal Essence, Aussie or any sent you feel suits you. And don't spray perfume in your hair because it will cause your hair to become very dry. I speak from experience.

You cant smell that your hair smells good by smelling the ends. but if someone else would smell your hair by your scalp within 1 day of washing it , it still smells good.

I don't think there are any that actually keep they're fragrance for more than 30 mins. I looked (and tryed) almost all that said they would make your hair smell good. All I do is spray on some perfume and it lasts forever! Seriously!

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There has been this guy in my class who also had golden blonde hair that was a medium brown near the base. When he came back to university after summer vacation, it was almost platinum blonde!

try leave-on hair conditioners. they smell good and it lasts. but of course avoid staying under the sun :p

Lol I was going to tell you to wash your hair but since you do I wont. Anyways you have probably grown use to the smell so you dont notice that it does smell good. Kinda like old women and purfume they spray so much that other people cough and gag on it.
If you are trying to impress someone just toss your hair around when your close you know run your fingers through it. They will notice if it smells good.
