I've completely fallen for this slightly older guy. Even before I knew him personally I thought he was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen; something told me he was special.

He's actually a good friend of mine now, and I am making (failed) attempts to become more than his friend. This is, I've heard from someone that he doesn't want a girlfriend. I find it so hard to believe someone that age isn't interested in dating at ALL, but I've got to accept that.

Also, I heard from the same person that he's just pretty messed up and probably is unhappy. He doesn't have many friends, and he's very immature and isolated for someone his age.

To complicate things even more, I just can't act normal around him; I always have to be a jokester or let a good buzz get the best of me and I make an *** of myself. So why WOULD he like me anyway?

My question is, what do I do for this guy? I love him, but he doesn't love me back. He needs help. What can I do to help him? SHOULD I?

Ask him if he wants to go out someplace. Something easy, like a walk on the beach. Do this a couple of times and then get close to him physically by hugging him or something, so he knows he has a chance at more than friendship.

Well, think before you do anything around him. Take a few deep breaths when he's not looking and just think some more. If you really love him, express your feelings for him. If he reciprocates, then you're golden. If he doesn't, there's not much else you can do but move on and find someone else who will love you the way you love them. Best of luck, amiga!

Yes, of course Diane has all the answers. I believe you should go with your gut instincts. You just may find your instincts will be right more than wrong.
