I am curious to find out by simple "show of hands" how many people want to believe in Jesus but can't accept that he was God.

Jesus was a man who became enlightened -- the 'Son of God' is a metaphor that represents all of us -- and we're urged to get the same experience of God as he did.

Jesus and God are two separate persons. They are not the same.
Jesus did have a prehuman existence before coming down to earth but he is not the same as his Father. They are separate.

Check the Scriptures.
JOHN 1:18 - no man has seen God AT ANY TIME (many saw Jesus)
JOHN 14:28 - the Father is greater than the Son (contradicting the trinity teaching that they are co-equal etc)
there are many more
Jesus is the mediator between God and man
A mediator cannot be one of the two parties, it must be a separate person entirely
To say that Jesus is God actually undermines what Jesus went through for us because for God to do that it would be nothing.

Also, if Jesus & God are the same, when Jesus died, who resurrected him? And if he resurrected himself - then he didn't really die. It doesn't make sense. Triads of gods were worshiped long before Jesus came to the earth. The Trinity teaching is borrowed from paganism.
Do you really think that God finds this acceptable? - No
Jesus did understand what it was like to be human & he suffered an agonizing death on a torture stake for all of us

I believe that approximately two millenia ago there was a man to whom we now refer to as jesus. The scriptures don't say he was god, and i don't believe he was god or that there was any god in any way connected with him other than possibly in his own beliefs.
And would the religious faithful please not try to convince ppl like us otherwise? we r entitled to our own opinions.and plz dont quote the bible, it is a work of men, written from the word of mouth of so many people a lot later the jesus. I really can't accept it as the word of god.

There is very little supporting evidence that he actually existed, so I doubt that he was any more a real person than William Tell or King Arthur
If he was a real person, however, he was just another fallible human who had some nice philosophies.
God is imaginary, so by definition, Jesus couldn't have been god.

I believe that Jesus existed and that he was very likely a good man, but he definitely wasn't God. In fact, according to Christian belief as I know of it, he was the Messiah, Savior, Son of God- nothing more and nothing less.

I do not need to believe in Jesus, historically, we can see that He existed. I do believe that He is God, because I believe in the accounts of the New Testament. However, I respect other peoples considered beliefs.

The Christian faith hinges on the Resurrection of Jesus. Without that, he could be any other wonder worker, and our faith would be in vain. Many saw him and were martyred for their belief. Not easy, and not a fairy story, they did not believe in fairy stories, but what they saw with their own eyes. How can we deny that, we were not there, and neither were those today who cannot accept. I believe because they said so. So what!

Jesus is God's son. He is classed as Mighty God but not Almighty God who is a totally separate Being. Why would God put himself in a baby form and risk Satan the Devil destroying Him? Jesus was sent by God to do his will not his own will. Jesus is a very important Being too as he was the only Being created solely by God. Everyone else who God created, was created with Jesus' help. And as God's only begotten Son was the most suitable candidate for being our Saviour.

I believe there was very probably a man called Jesus 2000 years or so ago who inspired many with his words. I believe he was exactly as human as me, you or anyone else who has ever existed.

I'm with the logical thinkers on this one. I'm certain there was a person who we've come to call Jesus Christ, but he was no more a god than any other "holy man" who imagines himself to be divine. Christianity started out as a nice little social club, but was perverted over the years into an institution designed to control people (and more importantly, their finances) via the masterful manipulation of fear & ignorance.

I think he was a real and wonderful human being, teacher and man of great understanding of the human condition, but a god, no there is no god / gods required for the mind of man to flourish.
