Nobody knows what happens to us when we die, or this concept of hell or heaven. Well by catholic mythology, i think as long as you live a good life, christian or not, youll go to heaven, or spend a few years in purgatory at the most, because comon, then over half of the world would be going to hell. Heaven would be like some deluxe snob club where only a few members were allowed in.
But realistically our concept of heaven and hell has grown out of control, its turned into a huge bribe, but hey i guess it works a lot of the time. The jews (the religion christianty evoloved out of) didnt have a strict conept of heaven or hell, they knew to live life good, and that god would punish them in life for unfaithfulness and sometimes the punishment would carry over to those that were close to them. They had some slight concept of bliss and punishment in the afterlife but it didnt consume all the time and thought as it does in christianity. Actually it sounds like it was tampered with somewhat by rulers and writers.
I dont think jesus wants us to suffer, if anything i think hed give us a redo, in a soemwhat reincarntional concept., then again if jesus did exist and was god's son.
dont worry about it so much and just try to live a good life by the golden rule.
dont take naything form the bible literally, most of its to be taken out of context into your own consideration and recieve a message and apply it to your own life.

All the things you said Jesus died for HUMANITY, not just Christians. If God loved HUMANITY, and he sent Jesus to die for HUMANITY, why is it only the christian portion goes to heaven? Because heaven is for those who have accepted the gift of life but you most believe and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, be born again. Search for a Pentecost or baptize church they will show you how to become born again.

Jesus didn't "die for us." He was murdered by an agreement between the local governor and the local religious authorities because they were afraid his ideas would start a riot.
It was a political act on the part of the local powers... Not a fulfillment of prophecy. In fact... the messiah prophesied in the old testament was a king who would lead the Jewish people into an unending era of peace... When Jesus died the people who believed him to be the messiah had to back pedal a bit to make it all fit. They decided that he in fact was this king of peace and that the kingdom of peace would be the kingdom of heaven and that this time around he was merely setting the stage for when he is to come back and restore the kingdom of heaven.
Look at it historically and you start to get a picture of how incongruent the whole religion is.

You do not have to go to hell for your sins. The whole point of Christmas and the life of Christ is that if you believe, you are saved. When Christ was born, there were no Christians. God sent Him into the world as a gift to all mankind. His sacrifice was made for all humanity. The church and the faith that is known as Christianity came into being after his death and Resurrection.
See John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believer in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 - For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18 - He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
The message is simple. There are many good books that explain Christian beliefs in simple terms. I would suggest "The Purpose Driven Life" - It sums up why we are here and what God wants for us.
I hope seeking answers to matters of faith will be a wonderful adventure for you and that you will discover that you are not alone in your quest.

Jesus did die for our sins. But it's only through Jesus that we are saved. If we don't accept Jesus into our hearts then we can't receive this free gift of Salvation. This should explain why not all people go to heaven. God bless.

At the time before Jesus you had to make a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus eliminated that ritual in that if you repents of sins in the name of Jesus then that sacrifice is complete and that specific sin is forgiven, wiped out, no more. But, if you continue to sin and not repent in Jesus' name, than on judgment day that sin will be held against you and you could be judge to death (Hell).
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.
Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Because God doesn't want to be with people who openly rejected him. Your sin belongs to you, God can't forcefully destroy your sin, you have to have the initiative and free-will to get rid of it yourself, and according to the Bible Jesus is the only way you can deal with your sin. If you don't want to be with God, and don't want to accept what Jesus did, you don't have to. Hell is not a place where God inflicts punishment; the reason any parent punishes their child is to make them obey and realize they were wrong, but in hell there will be no way you can "get back on the right track" or go to heaven so there is no reason for anyone to punish you in hell. You're simply left alone in hell, which presumably is the way you wanted to be left alone on earth if you reject Christ. Hell is simply a place where you get your wish.

Jesus did not die for humanity, he died for the elect. Read the gospel of John, Romans nine and Ephesians one. The OFFER of forgiveness is given to the world, but the APPLICATION of salvific grace is extended to only the elect. God so loved the world, meaning a globe with people on it, not every individual on the globe.

Webster’s unabridged dictionary tells us that hell corresponds to the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades. It also says that hell comes from the English word helan, meaning “to conceal.” So we have found that the early meaning of the word “hell” carried no thought of any kind of heat. It merely meant “concealed.” We have found, too, that the original Hebrew word, usually translated “hell” in English Bibles, is Sheol. Now what does Sheol mean? It simply means “a hollow place.”
Hebrew Bible writers say that conscious life and red-hot activity exist in Sheol or hell? No, quite the opposite! Instead of blazing fire it is described as a “land of darkness.” (Job 10:21) Instead of a place of soul-chilling shrieks it is described as a place of “silence.” (Ps. 115:17) The Catholic Douay Bible, at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, says: “The living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing more. Neither have they a reward any more: for the memory of them is forgotten. Whatsoever thy hand is able to do, do it earnestly: for neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge, shall be in hell [Sheol, AS], whither thou art hastening.” So, since the “dead know nothing more,” or as the King James Version says, “the dead know not any thing,”
hell is the the common grave of mankind where we would rest until the resurrection.

Jesus did die for all mankinds sins. However you must have Faith in Jesus Christ. You must accept the only way to the Father is through the Son. If you do not believe in him, why would he still save you? All those who are not for God are opposed to him.
