There are no procedures as such, but each country is different. Some may want you to fill in an embarkation as well as a disembarkation card. The rest is the same all over. Embarkation: You go to the airport, check-in you baggage, get yourself a boarding card and proceed to immigration (like mentioned earlier, here some countries may require you to fill in an embarkation card). Once you clear that, you are at Duty Free and then head to the specified boarding gate. Disembarkation: Get off the plane and head straight to Immigration (like mentioned earlier, here some countries may require you to fill in a disembarkation card). Clear that and you get to the baggage area. Claim your baggage (which has hopefully arrived on the same flight) and go clear Customs. Then you're on your way out. Bon Voyage!!!

Embarkation stands for when one is going abroad and check out at the airport. In other words when one flies out.
Whereas Disembarkation is when one arives at the destination and flies down.
