Two weeks ago I died my hair back to my root color (dark blonde). It had been a golden blonde before then, but when I died it, it died everyhting but my roots the right color, my roots are a blonde-orange.

At seeing this I waited the two weeks, then died my hair the same color again, hoping to darken my roots, it darkened them a little, but it's now a golden champagne blonde color.

Any recomendations on what I could do?

I would go to Sally Beauty Supply and ask the girls there what you should do. They know plenty about haircolor and what to avoid. I would always consult them before lightening or trying to change haircolors.

Hi, I'm currently a cosmetology student.. And I've done this before many times.. What you need to do is a pick color, I would suggest a semi-permanent especially since you have died it so many times in a short period of time and it iwll damage your hair. What you want to do is start about a 1/2 inch from the scalp and go down to about 1/2 inch from the ends... Then when your hair is the color that you want it you need to go back through and apply it to the roots and the ends. This is because your roots and ends take color faster especially if you have previously colored your hair. And how to take a strand test to see if the color is right, you want to take one strand and rinse it with a towel and some water, i use a squirt bottle..Then dry it either with the towel or a blow dryer.. If it is the color you can continue to apply it or if it is not you can apply it back to that strand and let it sit for a few more minutes.
I hope that this helped, good luck!

Go see a professional. If you cant bring yourself to do that try using a slightly darker shade of the same colour only on your roots a lot of hair dye company's have started selling root touch up kits. Future ref use a non permanent dye before a permanent like a dress rehearsal.

Go to a professional to have it fixed. I am not sure what products you used, but I find that strange that your hair is not completely black because black is a prevailing color. Also, considering that you used black hair color, your hair cannot be changed to any other color.

maybe a rinse would work. rinse ur entire hair a differnt color and then wait to dye it back. or maybe bleach and wait, but for sure u should wait until the roots grow out.
