it attracts dust due to the static electricity present on the screen of the tv, sometims, when you have turned the tv off and immediately touch the screen you notice that you get a small static shock.

If you have a conventional crt tv the screen is negatively charged and so dust collects on the screen and cabinet.
If you got one of the newer lcd or other types they would not collect the dust

i think it is because of the static it is like when youre hair sticks to it.and the material it is its just one of those things that attracts dust.
