Hello people im from queens ny and im moving to Miami with my boyfreind but i hear its a dangerouse city to go to from alot of people.Ive seen some awful things on the news about it including a few shootouts.I looked up the crime rate and it does say its alot worse than new york.Anyone know where in Miami we should go and where we should avoid.thank you your comments are appreciated.

There is Danger Anywhere you go dear. Just learn how to play it safe. Who would of thought a Kid in Columbine Colorado of All Places Would go Bezerk and shoot up his School? or That Ted Bundy a Mild Mannered handsome White Guy would be The Psycho that he was?

Philadelphia - Gary Heidnick - Electricuting Ladies in his basement after using them as sex slaves, One was found Boiling in a pot on the stove
Your Own City of New York - Son of Sam Shooting Couples at Random in the Parks
Los Angelos - the Hillside Stranglers

Ive heard the same. Miami is a very nasty city.Miami has broken the all time record for the highest murders in the states.one year there was so many murders the morgues ran out of room so they had to rent freezer trucks from burger king in order to store all of the corpses.I have a Friend down in Miami.He told me recently on his block that his neighbor was having a spider man themed birthday party for her 6 year old son when a bunch of armed men with ski masks and ak-47, machine guns kicked in the door and shot the mother and son to death and then shot several other little kids also.How sick is that. what cowards !!! he sais shootings happen all the time there where he lives in liberty city north Miami.He said there are alot of hattian gangs.I dont know about you but ive never actually seen anything like that here in ny, Im sure it happens but just not as aften as in Miami.Worst thing that happened to me was my car got broken into five years ago.Go to census and compare the opa locka section or Miami to queens brooklyn or even the bronx.Miami is pretty darn scary if you ask me.Miami makes new york seem like nothing.If i was you id stay away from Miami.Miami is bad news.

Like any large city, Miami has it's bad areas. These areas account for much of the violent crimes and it's often drug related, they are also easy to spot and avoid. Miami is huge, all of Dade County, so you have many options, and many safe places. Aventura, Brickell, South Miami, Coral Gables, The Beaches, Kendall, Coconut Grove, etc. Find a knowledgeable real estate agent, relax your mind and enjoy the weather

Miami is very different and does have a high crime rate. It is more like a latin city than an American one. Chances are, your financial situation will dictate where you live. Check the classified rental ads, call a few of the numbers and drive by. Coral Gables, Coconut Beach and more outlying areas probably have less crime. Avoid ethnic settlements like Little Havana, Little Haiti, etc.

Have they found who shot and killed patta from the Miami hurricanes football team? "nope" and he was not the first person on that team to be shot this year alone !!! another recent story in the Miami area an entire family was shot and killed on the side of the experssway pretty recently. a dad mother and two young children all killed by a machine gun.another report i saw on t.v sais Miami is like a third world country !!! trust me do not go sweety.

There is crime everywhere. You should avoid Hialeah, Kendall, Little Haiti. There are some good areas in Broward County near Fort Lauderdale. Coral Springs, Weston and Plantation are pretty good compared to Miami.

LOL...Don't worry Miami is a cool place to live...As far s crime is concern you mind your busniess and hang out with good people you'll be alright...Alot of New Yorkers head to Broward county(North of Miami very close)....Think of it like this what if I was moving to NYC and asked you about the drugs and gangs and crime in NYC you'll problobly tell me the same thing....Ohh if you want to drive around Miami do it during the day time.....Places you should avoid..Liberty City,Overtown,Opa Locka,...Good places to live Miami Lakes,Aventura,Downtown Miami (you may like Downtown Miami...I love it),Miami Beach,Hallandale,Miramar...Good Luck....

Miami is a scary huge ghetto dump with palm trees.Do not forget baghdad also has palm trees. In my opinion Miami and baghdad aint much different. Both are always burning hot and both are third world war zones. Talk your boyfriend out of going to Miami or let his but get killed there. Its his funeral.I used to live in Miami from 1980 to 1986. I'm glad I'm back in new york city where I'm safer and feel like I'm in america.Also I like my snowy white Christmases "thank you" .

My cousin was shot in Miami last April.In front of a corner store.He lived, but a Kat that was with him died.I got no idea what part of Miami though.Queens aint that bad.
