I assume you are either referring to the shooting in Atlanta or the one in NYC.
In response to either, the answer is no.
They don't have to clean up anything. They don't have to explain anything. That's what the public affairs unit does.

Can't believe that earlier response. These "cops" are people just as much as you and I. It's the cynical response to what they spend their lives dealing with on our behalf, that just turns my stomach. To the above commenter, assuming you don't have priors, consider taking a ride along or two with a police officer in your local department. Simply put, break the law and you deal with the police. As you seem to have a great understanding that most are bad, then why subject yourself to that chance by breaking the laws. Walk a day in someone else's shoes certainly before saying "kill" them. Where are the morals that people had even as little as two decades or less ago.

Probably, but remember that these "animals" you are referring to have seen a lot of senseless death on their end of the business. How would you feel if you knocked on a door, someone said "come in, it's open" & when you opened the door, the building blew sky high & everyone was either dead or severely injured for the rest of their lives. This happens when people manufacture drugs illegally & they get paranoid of anyone who comes into their world. I don't like it either, but it's just a part of life in America until people stop using & abusing. Patrol Officers are left with "picking up the trash"!

Actually, Drug cops don't "make a mess". Think of it this way, where you have drugs, you have guns, and illegal guns none the less. Illegal guns in the hands of bad people, need I say more?

That's all part of the job, there always have to be scapegoats.
