If you go to God seeking mercy for yourself, and yet are unwilling to have mercy for others, you are blocking yourself off from God's power. That is, you are asking God for something that he gives you, and he also gives you the ability to "pass it on."
A resentment, or hatred, is un-Godlike, and therefore hardens your heart before God. You have to give your entire self to God--wounds, hurts, and all--that he may heal you. And in order for him to heal, you have to be willing to open yourself up to his work. Part of this opening is opening your heart to accepting others' and their imperfections.
Basically, if you constantly go to God and seek something for yourself, and it does nothing about your relationships with others, you are not "letting" God work. If his love doesn't change your heart, then you are not receiving his love. Part of receiving it is passing it on to others.
If you love God, how can you hate what is his?

To forgive is to be forgiven. Forgive your past, yourself, your brothers and sisters. Thus you are forgiving yourself. The world is a reflection of you...and person you think offended you is nothing else but a reflection of your thoughts at that moment. If you hold a grudge to long..then you are actually holding a grudge against yourself..an you suffer.
But that doesn't mean that you have to be surrendering all the time. You can voice out your opinions, be strict and defend yourself..but do it out of love..and not hatred.

Before you start praying to God for anything and if you are mad or have hatred for someone, you need to go to that person & straighten out any differences & forgive that person and then go back to God in prayer asking for forgiveness so that your prayers won't be hindered.

In order to have God forgive us, we must be willing to forgive all and any sins committed against us.

Rather simple really, if your not willing to forgive others how can you expect God to forgive you.
Not forging others means you are harboring a form of hatred in your heart.

I'm not trying to be smart, but it means exactly what it says. Actually, I'm not familiar with that particular verse, however it sounds like a paraphrased version of John 3:16. It simply means that you are not supposed to harbor any ill will toward anyone.

That means God is serious about forgiveness, and he expects from you the exact same thing he is offering to you

i think it means that you should forgive those whom you are not in good terms with and God will also forgive you for your mistakes. However if you do not forgive your enemies, God may not forgive you for your mistakes.

To me, this is simply to remind us that, when we feel hurt that someone has not forgiven us for something, we must check that we ourselves don't have a bit of forgiving to do!
