Christians, this doesn't make any sense to me.?

Question

Last night I asked a question about manual and oral sex and determined that that is wrong before marriage, but now someone is telling me masturbation is wrong as well? Why? Why can't you stimulate yourself in any way to keep your sex drive down so that you don't have actual sex? How am I supposed to go through 5 years (that's when my boyfriend and I will both be out of college and when we plan on getting married) without any form of sexual stimulation. I love my boyfriend very much and I want to make him happy, but I can't. And now religion is saying he can't even make himself happy? It seems ridiculous to me to ask someone to go 15+ years without anything before marriage. It's already hard enough not to have sex when you love someone, but saying you can't do anything to try and quench that want is just insane.

Is this what you all believe? Is there some reason I'm missing on why masturbation is wrong? Serious and religious answers please. Saying that religion is stupid won't help.

While God has given us his law--the Ten Commandments--he has also provided the Way that we may know him. When we accept his Son as our savior and repent of our sins, we are sent the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides our life, if we're paying attention, and will let us know, clearly, when we are doing something that is keeping us cut off from God's full light. Seek the living God, and his will, will be revealed to you.

Well that's why Paul said if you want to walk a righteous life, its best to be single because there are not so many temptations. But he concluded that if you can't restrain yourself, its best to get married. I can't say exactly how pre-martial interaction is sinful, naturally if we were to set the moral laws then they might be very different than how God sets them..... But if I were to guess, you can't masturbate because that is not keeping your sexual stimulation down, but in fact it is feeding and fueling it. I can't really offer any advice about what to do..... Pray, give each other hugs, and hold hands a lot.

It is not what we all believe. Maybe self stimulation is considered wrong for priests and nuns, but I never heard of it being wrong for the rest of us. Don't over think this, and don't let some of the extremists on this site guilt trip you into denying yourself even this small, private pleasure.

If you think it is a sin,but you can't resist, go to confessional afterwards. There are an awful lot of Christians in this world. Obviously, a lot of us are into "procreation".

The idea that you are not responsible enough for sexual activity before marriage is an archaic belief. Some people aren't and some people are, you have to decide that for your self. You should never let anyone dictate you life on this level. It is a personal thing to you and everyone else should just stay out of it.

Masterbation is the leading cause of ED (erectile disfunction), men who consistently masturbate eventually need more and more stimulation to get arroused, thus they turn to porn, and other things. As for why some Christians say it is wrong: Well the Bible teaches that the life is in the seed, thus if a man spills his seed on the ground it is the same as killing a child. That is the literal interpretation, but there are other factors, masturbation has an element of fantasy. How can you be sure that your boy friend is thinking of you when he is spanking his monkey? You cannot be absolutely sure he may be thinking of some one else, which is in essence unfaithfulness. It is best to not do it based on religious, medical, and scientific reasons.

Don't worry about it, Christians are as guilty as the rest of us when it comes to sex/masturbation before marriage. Anyone who says they don't is just lying to your face!!!! Most Christians are hypocrites, they say one thing but sin like everybody else. Thats why no one takes them seriously anymore. If they only practiced what they preached then perhaps people would believe them. They can quote the Bible all they want, but it's how they act in their lives thats important, not what they say, and most of them act horribly.

Religion is an institution of man, morality is an institution of god. I tend to ignore the "religious" and chose instead to take the path of what I know to be moral. It sounds to me that you have mistaken the twisted views of the religious for the morality of god. I suspect a lightning bolt from the heavens will not find its way to you during the act of self satisfaction.

I hate religions that take the human components out of humanity. People get hungry, thirsty, lonely, horny, curious and they scratch those itches by eating, drinking, finding company, masturbating and educating themselves. You know that there's nothing wrong with masturbation, so why ask ignorant closed-minded people if the answer is inside of you?

There is absolutely everything right and ok with self stimulation...if your a man or a woman. It is mentally healthy, it subcribes to the... use it or lose it philosophy, and you will discover what you like and want sexually. Organized religion sorts love to tell people what they can and cannot do.......

Well,I say keep it simple GODS law verses mans.Simple choice to me is GODS law.Marriage is a vow made unto each other and unto GOD.. If you truly love each and are certain of marriage.Go to a justice of peace and quietly get married. This is for GOD and his commandments.Go to your separate colleges when finished Have your human wedding for relatives and friends.You can not be sinning if you are thinking of your mate when satisfying ones desires.THINKING OF ANYONE ELSE WHILE ACCOMPLISHING THIS IS SIN
