It depends on what you are using on your hair. If you use the right products, your hair should not get damaged. Here is my suggestion: When your hair is damp, use a couple of drops of a product called Kerastase Oleo-Relax. Use a Tourmaline hair dryer to blow your hair completely dry. Then use a Chi Ceramic Straightener to straighten your hair. This way your hair will stay healthy-

Look! STOP! I have long natural curly hair and I began straightening it out a year ago. You have no idea how much i regret it. If you have naturally curly hair you may know it tends to be dry and straightening it will really damage it. The third day I did it it did not want to go all the way curly anymore. I cut the ends all the time and now my hair is shorter than i would like it too be. It will do considerable damage and if you really appreciate your narutal curls, you wont do it. I sure would not have if i knew the damage it was going to do.

Yes its true. Heat always damages hair. You can't really prevent the damage but you can minimize it. If you condition your hair well that should help. also use a heat protecting product in your hair before you straighten it. There are lots out there. I'm using L'Oreal Studio Hot straightening cream. Also make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten it because that will cause damage your hair too.

Yes straightening your hair can damage it if your not careful. Don't straighten your hair if you don't need to all of the time. Use a good heat protector spray before you blow dry and straighten this will create a barrier on your hair to protect it from the heat of the straighteners. This will not affect the end result it will actually enhance it as it will stop your hair drying out and looking frazzled.

Yea it can. My best friend in 17, she has been straightening he hair for about ayear now and she is going bald, her hair is dry and damaged, it is frizzy and lifeless, it looks horrible. You can get a treatment at the hairdresser which will protect your hair, which is best or you can buy a serum from most stores which will proctect against heta and light damage!

yes oh definitely yes! dont str8en it when its totally wet. and when u do str8en it, use leave in conditioner. ALWAYS CONDITION ALWAYS. especially on your ends. and get ur ends trimmed wen u see splits because its a result of heat damage. also buy products for dry and brittle hair.
