It probably will, but it depends on how much of it he lost. Something similar happened to my dog, she limped around and we though she had some glass in her paw or something, but we couldn't find anything. So we took her to the vet and he said one of her claws had been broken and he pulled the rest of it out. It took about two months for the claw to grow back. If his claw is still bleeding, try to stop it. I know you can get some stuff to stop bleeding claws at a pet store, some kind of powder. I used to have some around just in case whenever I clipped my bird's nails. Though I have heard flour will work, just not as well.

First, take him to the vet ASAP. Yes it will grow back. My 1 dog broke his nail once and the vet had to remove the whole thing. He said it would grow back. It's best that the vet look at it just to make sure everything is ok. It may need to be cleaned too. They can then wrap it up nicely for him so he can heal properly. To stop the bleeding . . .use quick stop. Just to warn u, putting this on it will probably be very painful for him but try the best you can to stop the bleeding until you can get him into the vet. I hope he feels better soon.

Whether or not it will grow back shouldn't be your biggest concern at this point. It may or may not, but the bigger issue is why it fell off and the fact that it is bleeding profusely.
You need to take him IMMEDIATELY to the Emergency vet as soon as you can...TODAY. The nail quick is a rich source of blood supply and the bleeding may not stop without help. It's not that he will die from blood loss from a toenail being torn, but the vet needs to stop the bleeding and assess any other injuries causing him to limp, and he may need antibiotics and pain medication. If just the nail fell off it may well grow back. If however the base of the nailincluding the tip of the toe was torn/bitten/cut off it will not regrow. Keep it clean so it doen't get infected, maybe keep it in a crate for a day or two.

I would keep an eye on it, to make sure it doesn't get infected. My dog had this happen, she tore her toenail almost off, was just hanging there, and finally fell off. Just make sure the bleeding has stopped, from what you said it has.
Yes, it will grow back, my dog's did, but takes a while

Try to bandage it (so that he can't get the bandage off...good luck....) and keep an eye on it. I bet some hydrogen peroxide would help too, and that won't hurt him. The bleeding should stop and so should the limping. Was it a dewclaw or one of the 'main' ones?
Definitely watch for infection - if there's any chance of this, you'd better go to your vet.

In almost all cases a nail will grow back when it is ripped off the nail bed. Once in a while there will be a dog who does not develop a new nail, presumably because the nail bed was too traumatized when the nail was torn off or crushed.
