When you go to the market pick up a Cooking Light magazine OR check out one of their Annual Cookbooks from the library.

That's how I started cooking. The recipes are simple and the ingredients are very easy to find.

My starter cookbook was the BH&G cookbook. Then 365 Great 20 Minute Recipes. Then the Betty Crocker cookbook.

For a website, I hate to say it, try Rachael Ray's site. She specializes in making quick food really appetizing.

The best book I can recommend is the phone directory...
Chinese, Italian, Indian, anyone?

(That way, you get more time to spend with her, rather than spending hours slaving away in the kitchen or talking to the firemen whilst your kitchen burns to the ground.)
