Oil does take care of dry hair. Massaging the scalp with a hair oil cures dryness to some extent. But if you don't wish to do oil treatments, then I'd suggest you buy a good deep conditioner, and use it at least once a week. Also go for a very mild, preferably natural shampoo, meant for dry hair. You can try Bur's Bees avocado pre-shampoo conditioner too. It's really good.
For home-made solution, try a mixture of mashed banana and the yolk of 1-2 eggs. Banana has great moisturizing properties and egg yolk has fats that are good for hair and scalp. Leave it on for 1/2 h and shampoo off.

u may not like this if u r a vegetarian... but using eggs on hair helps .. a lot to keep it smooth n silky.... just beat an egg or two n put it on ur stresses the way u put oil.. leave it at least for an hour (2 hrs is better if u can bear the smell) n shampoo it off well... u ll need extra shampoo to get the egg smell out of your hair.(it may still smell for a day)...... ur hair will bounce back to life.. believe me ... i use it on y hair.. gives instant results.... u could try beer too (if u r able to put it on hair n not down ur throat).

Good care on your hair & scalp. Try to use suitable shampoo & conditioner that match with your hair & scalp.

This is going to sound so strange, my friend keeps saying the same thing and she told me she bought a shampoo from Wal-Mart with a picture of a horse on it that they actually use for horse mane's, I' not trying to be a smart alec this is the truth, said she has never used anything so good before. Good Luck
