The tree of knowledge of good and evil is satan, it is just another name for him. God is saying to Adam and Eve not to touch it or have anything to do with satan.
The word "tree" as it used in the original manuscripts is "`atseh {aw-tseh'}" which means, "backbone" the word for tree in the Hebrew is "`ets {ates}".
I hope this helps.

He didn't have a gun. God putting the tree of knowledge in the middle of the garden of eden, then telling Adam and Eve that if they eat from this tree then on that day they will surly die, is the equivalent of placing a bowl of poison ice-cream in a room with two 4 year old children and telling them not to eat it. These two people would have had no real concept of death, because they had never seen it before, how could they have, they were the first. God must have wanted them to eat from this tree and just to stack the deck, he either allowed the serpent to be in the garden or he sent him there.

The god that put the tree there was not the Good god, but the Evil god. The good god gave Eve the willpower to seek knowledge and learn things for herself. The evil god wanted humans to be robots, and simply obey and have no thoughts. The tree was put there as a power tool. Look at this, don't touch, ha ha ha.
It would be like a bad parent putting the cookies in the crib with the baby, then beating the baby for eating them.

The tree was the spiritual connection between earth and heaven. Churches and church spires are now this connection by reaching to the heavens, symbolically, of course.

You don't know squat. The question is bogus and should be addressed to God. You just don't have a real question.

It wasn't a literal tree. It's a symbol/allegory.
