My friend only weighs about 110lbs and his girlfriend is pushing 300lbs. He confided to me that she pushes him around and he ends up on the floor where she kicks him repeatedly. They have been together for 5 years and he said that she does this all the time. He was walking funny and I asked him if it was something she had done to him and he said yes. He has no family to take him in and I have no room myself. We live in central Ohio. Is there any organizations to help battered men?

He is afraid to report her to the police. He is not hit in the face and she has threatened to tell the police that he is the aggressor.

Your friend's problem is not unique - sadly our society is programmed to believe violence can afflict only women and not men - but the statistics you mentioned are though unbelievable, not ruled out aftr all love can be blind. A 110 lb guy against a 300 lb woman - well he must have been a real despo when he fell for her.

Anyways, this place can offer him a relief

There are many shelters your friend can actually go to. First start with the hospital if nobody can take him in and they will solve the problem from there. Ask your friend if he really does like her and why she hits him. The cause may be caused by drinking too much. I you know what is right you should take him under your wing until he is better to date someone else. Maybe someone close to his weight!

Of course there are organizations to help battered men. Call the police. But the bigger question here is whether he can grow a backbone.

check in the phonebook for shelters for battered spouses - they can offer counselling and assistance for housing etc to help him.
he'll need to do the hardest steps and that is gather the strength to say this is wrong, leave her and regain control of his life again.

good luck!!
