you do not go to a shop and let them do it then it will not leake and you will not kick your self for doing it....

if the car means that much to you you can get roof racks that work on the suction cup idea, or clip ons... this way you do not need to drill holes....

You might want to go the temp way (clip ons or suction cups). It's really expensive to have it done-and, probably, over your head to do yourself. It requires removing the headliner and sealing the holes. This involves removing the trim around the headliner and top and sides of the windshield, and possibly, though not usually, replacing the headliner. for what it costs you could buy a little pull behind trailer. then you've got it for the trips/hauling and you don't loose gas mileage when not pulling it. plus you can use it with the next vehicle.

Go have the professionals install it. Eliminate all problems.
