My car was parked in front of a friends house on the street. A van took the corner too fast and slammed my rear end. Extensive damage to my vehicle. The driver then backed up and pulled away. I do have full coverage, at $1,000.00 deductable. What are my chances of recovering the deductable?

Once you find the person, if he has no insurance at all you can make a claim using your uninsured motorist coverage if you have that. Or, you can take him to court to get back your deductible. If you can't find him, looks like you're out a grand.

Find the person that caused the accident and sue him. Small claims court will probably have limits in your state. Most are $5000.00, which covers your deductable. If you can't find the other driver I would think your out of luck.
