They always have to resort to the crutch called "faith" or the book they say is the word of god and they know it's the word of god because the book says it is the word of god, Talk about circular illogic.

I am a Christian & I know that there is a God. I know because I have done alot of research! If you take the time to discover the huge amount of information that is available, you too will find the TRUTH. (Seek & you shall find, Knock & door will be opened...)
There are a couple of really awesome books out there, if your seriously seeking answers, try "The case for faith" by Lee Strobel
Or how about a web site..http://www.icr.org
Just for starters....
No one can force you to believe! Nor is anyone called to do so.
But isn't the possibility of finding out the real truth, for yourself worth the effort?

First of all, logically I would look into the writings of Pliny, Josephus and Eusubius, ancient Roman and Jewish historians. There is a mention of a holy man - Jesus, and how he was crucified by Pontius Pilate for sedition. The rest is in the Bible, which has been passed down through the tradition of the Church. Another thing is that many suffered the most violent deaths on account of their belief. Were they mislead? Or was there something else. I believe through reason and belief and many remarkable things in my life. I have a complete faith in the Bible and the Church which has protected the Scripures for the last 2000 years. Cant be bad! Somebody has to tell us, it cannot drop out of the sky!

it's not about KNOWING babes it's about faith.
I have faith that there is a God, I believe there is a God. Knowing there is a God is being able to prove there is a God. If I could prove their was a God then there would be no athiests in the world would there.
I have faith in God because I believe someone had to create this World with the beautiful nature in it. I cannot believe that our complex body, mind, emotions all evolved ultimately from single celled ameoba's like evolutionists think. I could go on all day why I BELIEVE there is a God but I'm afraid you'd get quite bored of me going on and on. xxxx

as for convincing you I don't feel compelled to do that. I will just answer you question.
In terms that would be easy to understand and directly to the point:
I think you will find most believers on this forum do not do something because they were told. If that was the case its very unlikely they would be bold enough to come on line. so no one told me or convinced me. I looked and I found

I do not understand. How does believing in G-d make a person a Christian? I believe in G-d-with a very strong faith. But, I do not accept that Jesus was G-d. G-d is One. There is no G-d but G-d.

No other person can "convince" you of God's existence, but God Himself. You have to ask Him to make Himself real to you...and I can guarantee He will. Maybe not in the next 5 seconds, but eventually, if you are really seeking the truth. Once you become aware of Him, you won't need someone to "convince" you.

I can't convince you of anything. I know there is a God because He has revealed Himself to me in many ways. The bible says God does exactly this to those who seek Him. It is up to each person to decide who they say Jesus is. "All of creation speaks of God's existence, that no man has excuse". There are many verses in the bible that instruct us if we seek the Lord, we shall find Him.

Faith ( the lack of the need for logic and evidence ). Look at a flower, look in the mirror, look at a baby. It is obvious that god exists right? Yes sure if you have faith.
