If you started out talking a lot on the phone and then when he leave and then he doesn't call you for 8 days that is a big problem I wouldn't waste the time of day on him. I would say when he gets back from where ever he will be calling you I would just let him know that you where not looking for a part time relationship and have him move on. I just went through this same thing and it didn't work for me at all just hurts a lot more because you try to keep it but it doesn't work.

Well I recently started going out with a girl and I call her almost every day. You would think even though he is on a vacation or w/e for a holiday he would still make time to call you. I would just wait until he gets back before you make any big moves though.

wow you gave him a whole 8 days before writing him off forever? he said he would be out of town and if it sounded like he might not call you, then he might not. it's that simple. you've only known eachother for two weeks. you're rather clingy. if you want him to call you back don't have conversations like this with him. even if you get into a real relationship you are still two individuals with you're own ways, likes and dislikes. and one thing you need to learn quickly about an older man - they don't change their stripes that easily. most often than not they won't. back off and let the man have his holiday. even if he is going to see another woman - you said yourself there was no exclusivity yet. then this shouldn't bother you. especially after two weeks. clingy clingy!

Why was it again that you can't call him....."he does all the calling in the old fashioned way". So does this mean that since this is his way that you will also be expected to keep your "place" as a woman, and that he as the "man" rules the kingdom? Is this what you really want? I hope not, and if you don't, don't worry about it. Count his disappearance as a blessing.

After 8 days I would consider him in the past personally. Go on with your life and if he does call ok..if not then it was as you expected. My husband contacted me every single day for 5 months in some way and he was in florida and I was in Australia so it can be done if you want it bad enough. It seems your guy doesnt.

I would not call him. If he hasnt called by now, its probably over already. If he really wants to talk to you, he would give you a call and you can find out the answer then. If not, you know where you stand.

Most men will call when they want something (attention, sex, someone to hang with).
I bet you put out too early, but then again maybe he's still on vacation.
Call one last time and say ,"Hey, if you want to hang out here's my number, otherwise, best of luck to you."
