After you shave put some deorderant on over the shaved area (the stick kind). I know I know, sounds weird, but it is true! There's tons of lotion you can buy (anti-irritants) in the shaving section at most stores also!

Also, it takes the body approximately two weeks to get used to shaving a different way. Everybody is a little different. Try everyone's advice, sit in tub of water, shave WITH the hair, use deoderant or a soothing lotion afterwards. You will find what works for your body.

Good luck!

The spots are most likely shaving rash or ingrown hairs. This is usually associated with the use of conventional razors.

There are two excellent solutions available:

1) Use the Seiko Cleancut shaver and Shavy trimmer. The trimmer is toothbrush shaped so easy to manoevure around sensitive parts. The Cleancut only works on stubble length hair and will leave you with baby smooth skin. Best of all it won't nick, cut or bite.

2) Use a brazilian hard wax product like Gigi. It is used for professional salon treatments so is one of the best DIY products available.

For God's sake dont use a razor! This will increase irritation to your skin and leave you with stubble!

You need to use immac bikine line kit for sensitive skin. It has a finishing cream which reduce redness. You will always get some spots but try not wearing knickers or tight trousers the first few days after you do you bikini line as sweat contributes to the spottiness.

If you are prone to razor rash, then even the most meticulous exfoliation, best moisturising lotion and brand new blades won't be much help.

See a beautician and get it waxed. You don't have to take off your knickers and get it all removed (unless you want to) - just ask her to tidy up what is showing at the sides of your knickers!! It hurts for a split second, lasts for weeks and there is no painful regrowth as with shaving. Good luck!!

I had this problem when I started shaving--breaking out spots.

The best answer is hot wax (bikini wax). Although it hurts a bit, it last longer and is much smoother--and there is no breaking out.

I have a friend who is going through eletrolysis--which I guess is the best permanent solution. I may save my pennies for that someday.

I am a guy and I feel slightly shy answering it for you here it is though - I tried something a hair remover called Anne French for mine own problem and it works just superb - except for some mild itching. Remember not to remove that paste before or after 10 minutes to be EXACT if you want to spare itching. There is a chemical in thse hair removers I forgot the name but you better check at the cosmetics counter - if that chemical is in excess, the itching problem is more. So go for a brand which claims to be less on itching.

As with shaving your face [if you are a bloke] shave with the direction of the hair growth not against it. You see alot of guys with really inflamed necks that can lead to really nasty inflamed spots as they shave downwards in the neck area and not upwards.
