according to islamic law, this is the crime of apostacy......the punishment is death by execution.....this includes conversion to chirstianity or judaism......usually it is death by stoning or beheading......

Islam thinks of Judaism and Christianity as equal to Islam. They call the three religions "religions of the book", because all three are believed to come from God and their books are considered equally holy. Nothing would happen if a muslim converts to another religion of the book. They only consider someone to be damned if they become an atheist or convert to a man-made religion. People convert to other religions without any reprecussions ALL the time. No guarantee that ALL muslims in ALL muslim countries would ALL react the same way, but it is a rule of law in Islam to respect the religions of the book as legitimate beliefs all of which can lead one to heaven.
BTW "Infedels" in Islam are only a reference to athiests.

First of all, it is very rare to find a Muslim willing to leave Islam. Maybe someone with very less or no knowledge of Islam or someone influenced by the effects of the media lies.
But....
If a Muslim converts into another religion, he/she betrays Allah (SWT) and the truth.
They are given a chance to come back to Islam.
And if they don't, then they are killed. But not just anyone can sentence them. It has to be a person with knowledge and understanding of shari'ah.
Now, i know people will be shocked and think wrongly of Islam but there is wisdom in this.
The reason you see people falling from their religion is because there is no strictness. Jews and christians easily convert to other religions when they do not find comfort in their own.
Islam provides comfort to its followers. There are answers to every concerns that a person might have. Islam has answers to everything. Don't forget that Islam gives a person a chance to come back and they are given a period of time for that.
It's because other religions are so easy on their followers that their followers don't take religion seriously.
If Islam was lenient and weak, then religion would just be like a game and no one would obey Allah (GOD) and no one would be able to know the truth.
People would then live and pass by this world without knowing the truth and without knowing the purpose of their creation. I'm sure if a more knowledgeable person explains this to you, maybe you'd be able to understand the wisdom in this rule of Shari'ah.

Well... an Iraqi man was sentenced to death for converting to christianity this year. So that leads me to believe it would depend on what country the muslim is in.

If all the false god worshippers, Christians, Jews and Muslims, converted to the spirit of humanity, then there would be peace in the world. Love your neighbour first, before god. It is Her natural law. Otherwise we have to kill each other.

If the other muslims follow the law of islam the trator should be killed.... there are muslims of every nationality who do not follow islam as they should. these are like American Catholics who do not obay the pope.... not really what they claim to be... WELL IN ENGLAND A TEENAGE DAUGHTER DECIDED TO DO JUST THAT AND HER FATHER UP AND KILLED HER. We have wake up and smell the koran and find out what it teaches and not listen to people.
Because people are either misinformed or lie.
