A female wolf is a b1tch. Dam can be used, but it is almost 100% reserved for domestic dogs in actual usage. Vixen is WRONG. A vixen is a female FOX. In order to avoid the "offensiveness" of b1tch, many nature writers just use the term "females" to refer to female wolves.
