Why don't people understand the hardships that they went through to be able to america? People don't understand how and why people immigrate to america. A recent answer of mine, someone was downright infuriated with immigration. I know, maybe he lost his job to an immigrant or something, but that doesn't make it ok. You have a MUCH better life than them.

They ARE real people, no matter what you think. They eat, sleep, breathe, think, and they have intelligence. Why do you think they wanted to immigrate? Do you want to live as a poor mexican for a day? I didn't think so. I bet you would have done the same thing. Think about other countries. I have a friend who's family had to move one by one out of their country incognito. First the dad had to go, send money to the family, then the mom came to America, sent money, the kids had to stay at an aunt's house, then they finally got to come to America. It was alot of trouble to go through for a better life. The thing that most people do not get is that, you have it MUCH better than them. All they want is a better life in America, but they aren't able to. I hope I helped you see the other side of the story.

But that's not my point. People should just relax a little bit, and be more accepting of others.

I dont think it has anything with not understanding the hardships and plight of illegal immigrants. Im pretty sure we all understand and while alot of us will have sympathy with these people you will meet many here that cannot see past what illegal immigration is doing to this country. On the other hand there are those who support illegal immigration and see only the humanitarian point of this and not what it is doing to our country. But lets face it, we're going to pay taxes always, regardless of who it goes to. And in seeing it this way, it doesnt bother me that it goes to illegal immigrants or Americans. I figure that money is no longer mine and somebody is going to use it regardless of what I think or who they are. I understand and share the anger of all the crimes committed by illegals but I feel the same anger towards Americans who commit the same crime. Im afraid the problems caused are much less simple than the possible solutions for this problem but until our government does something about it, what good does it do people here, on both sides, to bad mouth people just for having a different opinion as themselves. Sure, illegal is illegal, but if it was that simple, which it's not, wouldnt this have been taken care of already??!! Just my opinion.

Some people are so eager to understand the plight of illegal immigrants while refusing to see the hardships of citizens that are displaced by them. Do you have any idea what it's like to be a poor citizen? I seriously doubt it, but it's worse than you imagine for some. Are you aware that whole towns full of citizens DO lose their jobs when illegals concentrate in their areas? Does it bother you that citizens can't afford to have kids because they are supporting the large fine families of illegals that plead hardship and religion? Why do they get all the resources and excuses and we get the bill, along with being called lazy and racist when we notice? No, I'm not really angry, I just want you to understand. Look at both sides of this issue before judging those of us who are watching our standard of living go down the toilet while illegals are getting rich on our opportunities. I wasn't born with a trust fund, but illegals come here and get a bottomless account for free. Housing, medical care, educations, home and business loans (and grants!) that we don't qualify for, etc. I can't feel sorry for people who have all that and didn't even bother to obey our laws. The immigrants that do come here the right way don't get all these priveleges.
These people aren't coming from the type of poverty you are imagining. If they were they would never make it here, as they wouldn't have the strength. And most of them are not here to feed their families. Many don't even have a family until they make one here. They are here to take advantage of us plain and simple. They want to be rich and work less. That's only possible if they break our laws and come here illegally. But even if they ALL were as you see them, it still wouldn't make it right for them to come here by the millions and demand rights and priveleges that they are not entitled to and have not earned.

I understand you perfectly and I understand immigrants perfectly... why because I have a few relatives and a few other folk who are immigrants to the USA (legally I may add). We all know how rough places like Mexico, China, the Philippines are (I currently live in the latter so I know first-hand how rough it is).
That being said, I cannot just turn a blind eye and say "oh go ahead and break the laws so long as you get a better life". I was not built that way.
There is a reason laws exist and you cannot just go around breaking them. And before you ask, many people have used "nice" causes to justify law-breaking. I am not so much opposed to the illegals as people or immigrants as I am opposed to their just being illegal (aka law-breaker). This is a matter of law enforcement, and nothing more.

Why don't people from other countries understand that the USA can only sustain a certain number of people a year in order to provide them and our own citizens clean water, fresh AIR, food, schools for education, housing, somewhere to WORK, security, uncongested highways, etc.? Realize we have gone WAAAY over the number we can provide for. California must build ONE elementary school a DAY in order to keep up with the population growth in that state. The whole country is headed for that fate and worse if we don't cut back drastically on ALL immigration. When the rest of the country has become as California is now, what will California be like? I can tell you, no one will choose to live there. Many people will be moving out of the USA and going to cleaner, greener pastures. The citizens of the USA aren't 'heartless". We must look after our own people first. We can't allow our country to go into ruin for fear of looking "unkind". If saving our childrens futures is seen as selfish or unkind, well so be it. THEY are more important than any immigrant.

We have a much better life because our forefathers fought and died for their children. We are the children they left their legacy to. I am sure they would be rolling in their graves at the disrespect of handing the country over to someone who never did a thing to deserved it

They may not understand, but also they want to protect this country by whatever means. Our country has many burdens,
poverty, natinal debt, job out soursing, lack of affordable housing , skyrocketing health cots. We are also under threat from terrorists. Its quite nateral to be protective in these conditions, becuase it was better no its a lot harder to have the American dream.

That's nice, and as long as the United States is a convenient dumping ground for Mexico and other countries to send their poor, they'll continue to fail to reform to meet the needs of their own citizens. It's not america's global responsibility to compensate for everyone else's dysfunction.

I will say this until you bunch of bleeding hearts get the message - this is not an emotional issue..it is an issue of law! It's very sad the illegal aliens did not protest their conditions in mexico and force change but that does not make it right for them to illegally come to our country and demand "their rights" - demanding change in our country... the bottom line is do Americans want to live in a lawful society which has worked well for centuries or a lawless society which looking at most latin american countries does not work!
The ONLY issue is Lawful vs. Lawless

why don't they fight for better life in home country, we have enough people here who live in poverty, find it hard to feed their children and have the same hardships and these illegals are taking some of the benefits that would be helping them.

The hate is in the way and will always be there. If you were from another country they would help you.
You are hated by rich white people in Mexico and hated by white people here in the USA. What is the difference. What makes you think it would be different in the USA.
I had noticed there was shortage of FRESH Air but I could not figure out why.
