good question. God gave us freewill, that means we can do whatever we want to it means your free to shoot the next person you see and God won't intervene, it sounds harsh but God wants us to be humans and not robots. but there's consequences to everything we do, we destroy the earth with our sin, sin doesn't just effect each other it effects everything around us, animals, birds, weather etc etc. God gave us freewill so we'd come to him willingly, he doesn't want to force himself on us...that's not love. He loves us enough to give us a choice to follow him or to not follow him. God hates what is going on in the earth, but he does intervene when needed. the tsunami for example, loads of people helped out with that in a world without God no one would care because why should we ?? without God it's survival of the fittest, it's kill or be killed there's no point in life pretty much. anyway God doesn't allow pain and suffering in heaven there will be none. our sin is the cause of pain and suffering.

God is the greatest lover of them all. God allows pain, how else are we going to learn!!!suffering is a consequence of man not loving his neighbor.God is a loving and just God. we are commanded to love one another.many people who have the power to act against, and stop major world suffering don't. Many people who have the power to end wars or change country policy do not act. Take the Rwanda situation. President Clinton chose not to get involved, when he clearly could have helped. Look at the mess that Bush created in Iraq. God is not a control freak, we have free will. He expects us to take care of each other and make the correct decisions. when we don't he leaves us to deal with the consequence...just like any other good parent would.believe it or not God holds his creation to a very high standard. Why should God snap his finger when deep down people know what is right and they choose not to? What kind of God would he be if he controlled every single move we made, whether we liked it or not?Or was always cleaning up our mess, we are all big boys and girls down here on Earth. We aren't babies anymore. I belive if people loved each other without condition and actually fufilled the purpose they were put on Earth for this world would be a much better place.

God is truly a loving God, think about the way you were made, think about the world how beautiful it is. You asked a very important question and i must answer as best as i can.
When God made this world, He made man and give him dominion over everything, even the angels were subjected to us. Satan came and changed all that by deceiving us. Sience we give our authority to satan, we made him ruler over us. God can stop this with the snap of his finger but He wants people like you and I to be saved. That is why He sent His only son so that we could be removed from under the yoke of the devil. You remember in the book of Job when satan went before God to accuse Job. God told him, do all you can but do not touch his life. Sometimes in life the good people get hurt so often. People who trust God suffer a lot, and we think He does not love us but He is there. He is a loving God and does not have plan for this present world that is why He said "BEHOLD I MAKE ALL TINGS NEW". It is in this new world that there will be no suffering, no pain, no sickness. Have you ever loved someone so much and each time you want to help the they hurt you? They never see how much you care for them? You know how much it hurts to be rejected by the one you love right? Think how much God is hurting. If He does not love you would you have life today? I hope this helps you.

The answer is fairly straightforward. He LOVES good, but HATES evil. This does not mean that He hates people who do evil. No, He still loves them but hates their evil actions, for which they must face the consequences.
Re the second part of your question, God has made us with a free will; if He intervened and stopped all pain and suffering, most of which is caused by the evil acts of men, we would not be free to choose right or wrong, good or evil, and there would be no real point to life here, we would just be like robots. Those who choose the former will get their reward. They will inherit eternal life. This is part of God's plan for the salvation of the human race after their fall of the first people he created.
If you want to know why God himself brings about pain and suffering on people, that is a different question with different answers, but there ARE answers to that one too.

God is The Most Merciful....I myself struggled with the idea of Pain and Suffering; but God makes it clear to us that This Life is a Test. We are only here for a short while. And it seems to me that the Human Being is at his greatest during and after a great struggle. People like King David, Moses, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Mother Theresa all taught us so much by their willingness to struggle and suffer--and Triumph. Read about their lives and see how they became Great People--it was through struggle.

We are a part of God, and God is Powerful. There is no pain, no suffering, no adversity that is greater than God. We can triumph through it all. As the Christians say "Hallehujah--Amen!"

just looks that way because God gives us what ever we want.

If we want something different we need to change our mind about the world we see around us.

When we do God gives us that new world instead.

Each of us gives the world all the meaning that it has for us.

I don't see the world as full of pain and suffering. I see a peaceful and loving world.

One of us must be living in a delusion.

I'd much rather have mine than yours.

Love and blessings

First off, you should take the Bible into perspective. As I learned it, it's meant for religious truth, not historical. So you take the main idea that is supposed to help you live your life better. For example, In Exodus, we should see that God freed his people when they needed him, not necessarily that a guy named Moses existed and helped the Jews. Also, we have to see that things the Hebrews didn't understand were often attributed to God. They dubbed them miracles. We may now know explanations for why said event happens, but back then they didn't and were only trying to make sense of things. Also, Satan is mentioned in the Book of Job as the one who roams earth and does the deeds that plague Job. Satan is most likely not the devil, rather stemming from the Greek word hasatan. This explanation isn't to say that God has never actually done anything in the History of humanity, rather that things people couldn't explain long ago were explained the only way they knew how.

It all depends. God is love but He hates sin. When you ask why He allows pain and suffering in this world, one reason is because it is the penalty of our sin that separates us from God. He allows this world to continue to be a rotten place so that people will realize that something is wrong not only with this world but with themselves and that they need a Savior. Even if the world was just like the Garden of Eden we would still have pain and suffering because there would still be sinners going around robbing and murdering and oppressing and gossiping and lying and cheating, etc.

Luke 13:1 There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

If you repent and turn to Christ then you have power to overcome sin by receiving God's Spirit and a promise of a matchless eternity to look forward to.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6 And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

Both. The world and all in it are condemned to destruction. If you endure through this world you will have life.Genesis states that we are cursed unto death that we should suffer all manner of things.
He can stop it with a snap of his fingers but all would be destroyed if he did.You have your chance because of the suffering.

God as I understand Him is a Loving God. I do not believe in the Bible thumping, fiery pits of hell, eternal damnation, etc, version that many Southerners like to espouse upon. If there version were right then many of them would wind up there!

P.S. I do like many Southerners I know so don't freak out, but you gotta admit that it is strange to preach about love and a merciful God and yet have a track record of lynchings, racism and oppression.
