If you live close to Northern Ohio I can do it for the price of parts, $40 and a 6-pack. Probably about $190 for the alternator.

Make sure its the alternator because you should have a computor controlled voltage regulator on that vehicle. Have the system properly checked or you may be hanging parts. But Jeep isnt cheap, I own a 98 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9L and damn, my little turn signal bulbs for the side are 6 bucks each, a similar bulbs for a GM is 2 boxes of 10 for less than 6 bucks ?!?!?!?!?!

Parts plus labor rate per hour times the amount of time it takes per the book.

It should be posted in the service department. Or you can ask an estimate before you authorize the work.

alternator's arent worth fixing just buy a rebuilt or a newone it wouldn't cost more then $130 or so with a core i imagine
