but if I dont do one of the two I get irratable, is this an addiction, I am sure it is, but not real sure..
What should I do and how do I know if it's an addiction for sure or not! If I dont have either I take a well known pain med. Not sure what to do here! No I am not some kid..

You have a dual addiction to drugs and alchohol. If you get irraitable without one or the other, you are crashing. You will soon begin to combine both each day. If you are irritale, you are probably becoming depressed. In this case what is recommended is both medical and psychological intervention. With this type of addiction it takes both. If you do not do anything, then as you worsen, you'll become another junkie.

**FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO WITH YOUR TIME!!!**
I mean that in the nicest way possible. I was doing a lot of stupid things in the past that would have eventually killed me. The one thing that kept me doing them was the fact that I had nothing better to do with my time. Also, depression was a major factor in those decisions.
Take up a hobby, for example. Find something that used to make you happy as a child. Maybe you loved to ride your bike or cook. Maybe you played an instrument in your spare time. Gardening and taking care of a live plant is pretty time consuming. Try to figure out what makes you happy again.
See a couselor because they are only there to help you and make you a stronger person. They can help be a support system when your friends won't be strong with you. They can also help you work through your issues on whether or not you may be suffering an addiction. (Sometimes it's harder to quit old habits when you are around friends that do those same things around you day in and day out....)
Good luck to you!

I think you already know the answer. However, you have to be the one to decide what to do next. If you believe you have a problem and want to stop. Go to a Drug abuse counselor. AA NA there are a million programs out there.
If you don't want to stop...then there isn't any "help" for you.
If you really aren't sure. A trip to the doctor will get you clear on that pretty fast.
