A 1/4 C per is alot of gravy and it also depends on what you're sausing up, Chicken,Bisquites and Gravy take more then your average Mashers, so stick with 1/4C per and if you have left over there's always room for seconds

It's hard to say as people put different amounts on their plate. I like ALOT of gravy, I probablly use a cup by myself alone. I would say 5 cups for 5-6 people.
