Like left-brained people understand facts? And right-brained people need you to "paint a picture" for them so they can understand?
Is it more a matter of genetics than attitude? And if so, shouldn't we feel
sorry for the simpletons, instead of getting mad at them?

Many people think outside the box. They dont come upp with ordinary ideas. They are usually creative.

Yes, it is true. However, that may actually be an asset. Like Republicans and Democrats. We need the extreme left and right wingers to jerk us back into the middle of the road when we get into the ditch .
We need people like James Dobson to counter-balance people like Al Sharpton, or a Phyllis Schafley to counter a Nancy Pelosi.
Think about it-would you like to live in a country where everyone thought like Pat Buchanan-or Barney Franks?
People who think outside the box are necessary for the world to progress, but people who think inside the box are needed to keep the others from dragging us off a Cliff.

It's very possible, there have never really been a study on intelligence and religion with aspects to genetics. I'm sure they will do it at some time in the future. I guess we will just have to wait and see what they find out.

i think that capabilities isn't the word.
the ablity to think" out of the box" isn't some hard ware that you have in your brain, that you either have or you don't have.
it's a software or wetware that can be taught.
everyone has the capability if they have the tools to do it.
so, it's not that they can't do it, but that they don't have the "tools"
to do it. why pity them they don't seems to miss it???
God bless,
gabe

We all have that problem whether we like to admit it or not. That's why mankind is constantly trying to find new ways of putting God in a box too.

I think its a little bit of enviroment influenced by genetics. We shouldnt get angry with them, we should pity them and try to explain things.
