I am not sure if it was going in so how long should we keep them together to make sure she will have babies. I have good homes for the kittens already and am a responsible cat owner. I can understand you must love your cat very much to want to breed it and think it's great that you've already found homes for the kittens.

But please, if you are not breeding top show animals don't breed your cat again and have it fixed.

Since you are good at finding homes maybe you can help some of the kittens and cats at a shelter find a home before they are euthanized.

If you are interested in getting into the cat business then maybe try to find a breeder in the area who you can work with, volunteer or learn from.

But I beg you please, please, please don't breed anymore cats and be sure all of the cats involved in this including the kittens are spayed & neutered.

I can't keep up with the rising cost of care and vet bills for all of the cats who are breeding and unwanted.

As you are a responsible person please consider what I am saying.

Why do you want to get your cat pregnant?
Before you got a cat in the first place you should have got a book from the library and read up all about how to look after kittens and cats.
It is so annoying when people think they can just take an animal home without knowing anything about how to raise it. You wouldn't do it with a human baby so why with an animal, which requires just as much care and love.
But seeing as you have show that you are not a responsible cat owner by allowing your Queen to get pregnant, here follows an answer to your question.
You would have known if the act had been done by the howling emitted from the female. Sounds like she is in incredible pain but as soon as she breaks away she goes into what can only be described as a cat or*ga*sm. After a while she will be eager to do it again.
I leave my cats together for about two hours. They mate approx. 4 times in that time. I put them together the next day for another two matings then that's it.
A Queen will be pregnant for approx. 63 days give or take a few.

I hope both your cat and her "boyfriend" are both up to date with their inoculations. If they aren't there could be trouble with the kittens, passing on dreadful diseases to the unborn kittens. I hope you were responsible enough to make sure she was fully protected against such diseases.

unlike humans when cats mate its for the sole purpose of getting pregnant If the mated twice she is with kittens.
Cats don't do it for the pleasure of it like we humans do. I hope that you will get both cats fixed so there will be no more babies kittens are not as easy to find homes for as you may think,

You are NOT a responsible cat owner. You obviously have not done the necessary research on breeding as you do not even know how long they have to be together for her to get pregnant.

Responsible pet owners DO NOT contribute to the millions of unwanted pets in this world as you are doing. Responsible pet owners spay and neuter and ADOPT their pets.

not long, just a couple more days, cats are smart when she starts getting angry at the male, is the time that you should separate them. this my also not be 100% accurate though. she may just be tired. just give her some time then let them see each other again. Oh yea and when she is pregnant, she will act different and so will he.

please understand... but you are not a responsible cat owner.. Is your cat a purebred registered cat that you have taken to shows to PROVE she is a top quality cat WORTHY of passing on her genetics?
has the "boyfriend"?
you say you have good homes for the kittens??? why didnt these homes go out and adopt from the shelter if they are such good homes?? it is estimated 2-3 MILLION cats and dogs (kittens and puppies too) are Euthanized every year in the USA alone simply becuase there are more born than there are homes for

if your kittens take homes from kittens who are in shelters... then you have simply condemed somebody elses kittens to death...

sorry you are simply one of the misguided souls who thinks they know more than they really do.. please please do not encourage breeding of domestic cats.. there are so many suffering because of people who think "one litter wont matter"....

also every litter.. every heat cycle increases her risk for cancer... if you loved your cat you would spay her...if you were a responsible cat owner you would spay her...
