Yes. Take your car to a VW dealer and ask them to fix it for you. They will be more than happy to.

If you have checked the fuse it sounds like the heating pad has gone 'open circuit'. If you have a test meter, or you can buy one for under £10 from Maplin www.maplin.co.uk. Disconnect the connector under the seat and select 'ohms' on the test meter. Put your probes into the connector that goes to the seat, NOT the other way around. If the resistance value shows open circuit, or infinity, or over 1 megohm, according to your meter, then the seat pad is knackered. You can replace them yourself get a spare from www.volkspares.co.uk but it depends if you are confident about getting the upholstery back as it was before you started.

Use VAG Com to diagnose the actual issue - you can buy a cable on eBay for £5 - £20 and get a freeware version from their website (see web links below)

Check under the seat and see if the plug for the heated seat is still plugged in. Use a volt meter and see if you are getting a voltage with the switch on. If you are then the issue is with the heater element if not it is something up stream. A word of warning if you unplug the side airbag plug the air bag warning light will come on and stay on. Although you can use vag com to clear this fault!

Sounds like the heating pad on the seat if you have checked out everything else.
Do you Have a test meter? if not you can buy them pretty cfheap, check and see if power is getting to the pad, if not and fuse is ok then it has to be a connection or the switch itself which I suspect.

Ok you say the other one works, but still check the switch and wiring from it to your seat.

Good luck m8, let me know how you get on or if you still have probs, im only too happy to help.

I have a Jetta ... but heads up ... I just found out last month that my drivers side heated seats were recalled. Mine just got really hot and burnt my leg ~ ouch! Nothing serious though. It just heated up REALLY quick in one small spot ~ got my attention quick!!!!
Call VW and see if your Golf was recalled too for the same problem.

Heated seat ? Oh boy, are we molly coddled or what. i'm able to bear in ideas while a heater for the motor vehicle indoors substitute into an optionally available greater and quite pathetic besides. it somewhat is nonsense greater's like this that help push the fee of todays autos as much as ridiculous ranges. Are todays drivers somewhat such wimps that they choose heated seats ? A motor vehicle serves one purpose in basic terms, to get you from element A to show B. it somewhat is a device to do a job, not an extension of your residing room or mattress room.

call the vw dealer and ask them to check if your car has any open recalls. there is an open recall on the seat heaters in your
golf. if there is an open recall get it to the dealer as soon as possible because these seat heaters have actually burnt the seats on many of these cars.
