For instance what is evil? And is the very act of calling something evil is why evil even exists. What is blasphemous? Somone told me watching a movie that opposes Christian thinking is blashphemous. But would someone else of another faith see it as evil? Does this make it less evil, or not evil at all. And if it is a matter of perception wouldnt that mean that evil only exists in the way you perceive it to be. All I know is that thousands of years ago I would have been hung or burned at the stake for the abilities I have. Today i get paid for them. Does that mean that evil changes according to the times. And if that is the case what is truly evil?
Just wondering?

Good and evil don't exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them.

They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.

Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.

To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.

Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.

This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.

No it is not blasphemous to watch a movie that is non Christian.
I watch and read non Christian stuff fairly frequently.

This for me serves two purposes. One if I never hear another point of view how can I know for certain I have the right one, and have not just been a victim of brain washing? If I have never heard another point of view I can't know.

As a Christian I am also supposed to be able to give a reason for the hope that is in me to everyone that ask, how can I give a response if I don't have any idea what the questions are?
So in a way I view looking at anti Christian stuff as sort of an obligation, and as long as I do it in moderation, and with a reasonably skeptical mind.

Once most of the people on the planet thought it was OK to own slaves. But now most say it is wrong to own a slave. Was it OK 200 years ago, but wrong now? I don't think so I think it has always been wrong to own another human. It just took allot of people a long time to realize that it was wrong.

If most people can believe something is right when it is really wrong that means that humans don't create morals.

If humans don't create morals then how do we get them?

Some people say evolution created morals, but evolution could not have created this moral rule because evolution is about survival of the fittest. When the south had slaves they were rich, when the south lost we went down hill fast until most southerners were dirt poor, which hurt survival. So evolution could not have declared slavery wrong. What did it then? I and many others think it was God who made it wrong.

I know many are saying but slavery is in the Bible., but slavery in the Bible was different, slaves were supposed to be treated well, and every seven years the slaves were supposed to be given the option to go free. Also most slaves were indentured servants, people who could not pay a debt so instead of paying the debt they would be obligated to work for the person they owned until the debt was paid.

Religions tend to label the things evil that they perceive as a threat. It's called self preservation. Mostly it's the religions leaders them selves who do this and determine whats evil, it's how they make a living and they can't have anything mess that up, but every now and then you get an over zealous member of the congregation that wants to do the same.
