Who knows? I guess only "God knows" but he isn't telling. What he does make clear if you believe the Bible is that their are other Gods, after all if there were not why would we neede a commandment which tells us to have no other gods before him? Of course most of what is in the Bible is just a reworking of previous religions,as they seem to evolve for lack of a better word. For example centuries before the birth of Jesus the canaanites worshipped a god named Baal and at one point among other rites was an annual celebration of his death and ressurection, typically in connection to the end of the seasons when the land could be planted again for crops,in reference to fertility or rebirth, kind of like Easter I guess one could say?

What does the Bible say? At 1 Cor. 8:5, it says there are "many gods and many lords." But at John 17:3, Jesus called his Father, Jehovah, the only true God.

There is only one God and that is the Father of our saviour Christ Jesus.

While some believe that there are 3 gods god the father, god the son and god the holy spirit, there is no biblical proof of this. It is a pagan adaptation that the early church brought into the church to gain converts

1 Cor 8:6 "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."
Eph 4:6 "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
