Yes, when you do finally get a license, you will be even higher than normal risk as a result of driving without a license, and it could reflect on your costs for coverage. The "If the cop doesn't show, the case is dismissed" ranks along with "If you're born after 1993 you have to wait until you're 18 to get a license." It's Urban Legend and not true. If you decide to go to court and enter a "not guilty" plea, you will be assigned another court date to be heard, and the officer might be asked to attend then. Or perhaps the state will just take his statement for court. The fact that you signed for the ticket will establish you were there. It's a very easy matter to establish you did not have a license to drive on that date, and you'll be found guilty. As to the rest of the questions, it depends. Since your car could have been impounded for 30 days, I would guess you are in CA. But go see the clerk and see if you can just pay the fine. You may or may not lose your ability to get a license until age 18, and you may or may not be required to attend with a parent. But they can tell you when you see the clerk and ask about it. Good luck with it.

Many Y! answerers have said that this should mean the death penalty. In real life, most such unlicensed drivers these days seem to go to Eastern European countries and bribe the inspectors to get an EU license. Of course it's not valid in the UK because your right to drive is revoked. But it often gets by the random check. But of course all those illiterates who didn't read that you're in the UK, and who answer with a USA reply, don't know that the chances of a random check or a traffic stop are insignificant: in the UK it's ony automated radar cameras you need to be concerned about. And if you have foreign registration . . . who cares? (What's more, under EU law, the Insurance Bureau of the country the car's (fake or real) license purports to come from has to pay for any third-party loss! Of course they'll be subrogated, and can sue you; but if you're in prison, or in an asylum, or abscond abroad, who cares!)

And of course your insurance wouldn't be valid if you had a revoked license even if the car had insurance.

But UK judges don't seem to take this all as seriously as many think they should.

I don't know about the uk, but in the us without a valid license you'd go to jail on the spot, and your car would be impounded. Not to mention you'd get some very heavy fines. If it was just no insurance you'd just get a very expensive ticket.

Why would you want to do a thing like that? It is not a very good decision. You would be breaking the Law, and you know it.The consequences would be severe enough since you would be endangering the lives of other Innocent people. Stop it before you are caught, and obey the rules. That should keep you out of trouble.

you be going to jail unless you are white and have a lawyer. here in Illinois they are about to pass this law making it a FELONY to drive on a suspended or revoked license which means not only will people be going to jail if you are poor and have no lawyer, but maybe to the penetentary as well, and now you have a felony conviction so don't even TRY to get a job anymore. its another way to lock up and downpress the poor and the people of color

Sieze the car and crush it.

Probably arrest you too due to the revoked license.

Not worth the trouble. Believe me.

In the USA you will have your vehicle towed & depending on the cops mood, you will either get a ticket or go to jail.
