he doesn't need socks because he likes to be barefoot and well any man that wears a dress probably doesn't care for underwear either.

Christmas is not His birthday, it is just celebrated as such. The presents represent the gifts the wise men brought to him as he lay in the manger after he was born. Furthermore it is not taught in the Bible to celbrate Christmas, though there is nothing wrong with doing so. You can read the whole story in the books of Matthew and Luke in any Bible.

Jesus wants to give US gifts--on His birthday, on our birthday, and EVERY day, because He loves us. We're the ones who need the socks and underwear, as well as many other things, and He wants to provide them for us. All it takes is genuine faith in Him.

We give presents to each other in remeberance that God first gave us His only Son.

We recieve the presents from each other in rememberance that we have recieved a gift from God.

jesus' b-day is acually sometime during the summer. it was decided to make it aline with pagan holiday, celebrating the birth of the sun-god.

we give to each other to honor HIS birthday since HE is no longer in the physical form to receive the gifts of mortals. the only gift we can give HIM is love, honor and adoration, along with our thanks for what HE has done for mankind.
