Absolutely! And the worst thing is that all the supermarkets have to discard old food that really is still edible but not allowed to donate it to the poor. And another thing that bothers me are people who refuse to eat "leftovers" as if that would hurt them to do so. Too many spoiled people on this earth.

Yes it does.
It bothered me when this country did not have so inflated a paper money supply that only the super-rich could afford to buy things including foods at regular prices.
Now, when I see people wasting food, it tells me two things--
we have bad laws favoring CEO cronies of a government that doesn't care about people or else doesn't now how to stop crime, bribery and waste;
and injustice being done, to people who have to go hungry while others who can't think or plan very well are so overpaid they can throw food away.

yes, it bothers me a lot. i appreciate the fact i live in a country where food is abundant. i always finish what i put on my plate because i can't help but think there are millions of people in the world who will never even see a full plate of food. if there are any scraps left i save them for the animals outside. i don't care if they are stray cats, dogs, coons, etc. the next day the plate is clean and some poor animal had something to eat that night.

Yes I grew up on not wasting food. My parents always used to remind me that there are plenty of starving people in the world and that food should not be wasted.

does it ever !
especially at the buffet-places,
it's the people who try to get more for their money,and over-fill their plate (s) when at home they don't eat a 1/3rd of what they get. also the host who rotates the food for the display !
to think !, they could operate a food kitchen for the needy,around the corner ( and get a tax right-off ) makes no sense !!!

it does so much, that my girlfriend has became an expert on preparing leftovers. I suggested she writes a book on how too.
