A "witch" is a person who practices something called "Wicca" They are generally good people who believe in the healing powers of nature, like using certain herbs and stones for good. They believe in not harming anyone or anything. Not even with words. They believe everyone is equal that no one is better than anyone else. Worship is a difficult word for little ones, but probably understands prayer. Witches pray to a goddess and a god for guidance. They do not believe in the devil. Just don't fill his head with some of the malarkey that you have received from people who perceive themselves as good non-judgmental people. But they have no idea what a "witch" really is.

A witch is a human that believes differently than the mainstream majority religious groups do. Usually good people, as are most people.

most commonly a word used to describe a woman with PMS. However, doubt that is what a 4 year old is asking. I would say that there are things in life we all do not understand and a witch is a woman who studies these things without the guidance of God

A witch is someone who tries to live in harmony with nature and take care of the earth, who believes in and practices magic, and believes that you should "harm none" because hurting other people or animals is wrong.

Someone who practices magic - man or woman. Like a wizard!

ooof that's hard.
A real witch is a girl who follows a religion called 'Wicca.' They use magic to cast good spells.
They like to be called Wiccan.

A fake witch is the one you see on TV, with the pointy hat.

For 4 years old - maybe tell him someone that plays with nature. Really that is what we do in a nutshell.

Okay, I would say that a witch is a fictional character. Also say some of the attributes of a witch. Think about what you would want to know about it if you were 4 years old.

Tell him this:

A) A witch is someone, male or female, who practices natural healing arts and worships nature as if it were God.

B) A witch is someone who gives him or herself over to doing evil and worships Satan instead of God.

Technically, both sexes are called witches. The term warlock is recent and not used by serious practioners of "white" witchcraft, ie, nature worship.

There are both kinds in the world today. (A) can be a lovely person. (B) is someone you want to steer well clear of. They are NOT nice people!

Hope this helps.
