I need the Canon Powershot S3 IS for a low price such as at least $300.00. Can anyone also tell me if this camera is classified as a SLR camera?

It is not an SLR. Check the price at B & H Photo to see what ballpark you should be in from a legitimate dealer.

It's not an SLR. See if you can still find an S2 IS, which is quite similar in performance and lower in price.

Go to walmart .com, they have it on there website and IT list all the specs, I worked in the camera department for 7 years at a walmart supercenter, we carried them for a little less than 300, I would love to own one of these cameras, I know target.com has this camera for $359. Hope you get one there great, like I said I would love to own one. Try e-bay maybe.
