My hairdresser takes excellent care of my hair. She has been the only one to ever calm my naturally frizzy mane and cause it to be straight and silky with out a lot of heat. Anyway, my issue is this:
She trims my hair every time I go, which is every two weeks. I want my hair to grow long, very long. She keeps it just 4-5 inches below my shoulders. I know my hair is growing because she constantly has to cut my front. I have casually (more than once) mentioned that I want my hair to be long ( it was about 8-9 inches below my shoulders when I started going to her, but BADLY damaged). I really want my hair atleast as long as it was, I really want it longer. I don't want to offend her, how can I express my desire so that she won't get offended? Should I leave it alone, trusting that she knows what she is doing?

Just ask her. Remind her of your eventual goal and say " I've noticed you trim my hair often, hows it doing back there and when can i really start to let this grow and space out the trimmings?"

A normal healthy head of hair grows about 1/2" a month. Don't go in every two weeks. Once a month or even 6 weeks is sufficient. BEFORE she cuts your hair next time, tell her that you want a half inch cut off, and no more, and have her show you what she thinks is a half inch. I know this sounds funny but everyone's idea of what a half inch can be different. Watch her as she cuts and if you see that she is going too short, stop her and restate what you want. You have to communicate. You may both be getting too carried away in conversation.

I am a licensed cosmetologist and a salon owner and I can tell you that if you want to be happy with your stylist then you need to speak up and tell her that you do NOT want your hair trimmed when you visit. If she says that she has to do this then tell her that if she cant do your hair the way you want it to be done then you will find someone that will. Please do not feel bad about offending her since it is her job to make sure you are satisfied with her services. Remember that when you sit in her chair YOU are doing her a favor of being there and letting her do your hair, You pay her right. Then that would mean that in a sence she works for you. Good Luck and maybe this is time to find someone new.

if you want it to grow, you shouldnt be getting it trimmed every two weeks. you should only get your hair trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks if your trrying to keep up the same style. if you want it to grow try going 6 weeks without getting it trimmed. and then go in and tell her that you want it to grow and just take off a half an inch or less and ghet a deep conditioning treatment. do that for a while and see what happens.

Her job is to do exactly what you ask; my guess is that you just need to make your request clearer. Next time you go, tell her BEFORE she starts cutting that you want your hair to grow long and you do NOT want her to continue trimming it. If she starts to trim it, ask her to stop.

There may be some reason why she has been trimming it; if so, you deserve to hear it and decide for yourself.

certain your hairdresser is nice yet so is Tabitha. They were speaking about 2 numerous issues. Your hairdresser became relating color not having the ability to carry to a lighter color once its already dyed. real Tabitha became relating the stain round a consumers brow. at the same time as color is left on the floor rubbing the leftover color into will eliminate the colour residue. move decrease back to the salon in case you at the instantaneous are not chuffed yet keep in mind its not a similar issue as you're speaking about on the following. Your stylist became good in that ingredient.

Cutting the damaged dead ends will help your hair grow faster. Leave her alone she knows what she is doing. When she gets all the damaged hair cut off you will notice your hair growing a lot faster.
