i would def do a pony with straight hair~ maybe add a headband (which came back in style)
a messy bun would look better with curly hair

It's never good to wear your hair to bed in a ponytail/messy bun, because if you wear a rubber band or something that pulls the hair back, it will cause hair breakage, big time. Your scalp needs to rest at night.

I would go for the ponytail, but make sure it has some bounce , curl. or bend to it. Don't wear it stick straight. Try a different part in the front too, like a diagonal.

Depends on the pony tail and bun you're talking about.
I think both would look nice but,

i would go with the ponytail, cause if you do a bun wrong you can look bald from the front (i speak from experience)

i think messy buns are cute but dont wear ur hair like that every day. a pony tail looks cute too
