the only "elmwood" I've ever heard of is also called japanese maple.

"An upright grower to perhaps 10', with light green leaves that are reticulated when young, reminding one of 'Sister Ghost' or Peaches & Cream. Also sold as "Elmwoodie". This is a new cultivar about which not much is known, at least by us".
