e-mail (for written notification), but call first... most employers are sympathetic, but if they aren't you may need to contact HR - most companies will give you 3 days off with pay and if you need more, you can take leave.

What is the absence notification procedure for your employment? If you don't know, or if there isn't one, I would suggest you send an email today include your phone number and perhaps the service arrangements. You might even say you aren't sure if this notification (by email) is according to company procedures. Theoretically, you should not have to be making calls and worrying about etiquette right now. Take care. Our mothers are priceless. How can we live without them?

If you can't do it in person, call them. I know this is a hard time. Tell your boss that you'll follow up with an email with the funeral info once the details have been confirmed (date/time/where). I hope your boss or company is understanding of a situations like this.
And I'm very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. God bless your family. *hugs*

My sympathies to you and your loved ones. A phone call would be best, since you're going to be out for a while and you want to make sure the message gets through properly. I understand you probably don't want to talk about it, but your boss will probably be understanding too, and not keep you on the phone long.

My condolences on the passing of your mother.
It is best to call your employer, at least so that you can have some feedback. If you leave it up to e-mail and get no feedback, you could easily be out of a job (especially if you have been working there for a short time).

First off, my sympathies for your loss. I would do it with a phone call. That is my company policy. Plus if you tell them by phone, you will know for sure that your boss knows what is going on and can arrange for coverage while you are gone. God bless you and your family through this hard time.

A phone call is the best way to go. However, if your office is closed, I woul e-mail them and left a voice mail with a supervisor. I would then call when they open and speak to a manager.

do no longer direct your frustration and anger on the incorrect persons. The police have been advised that he had no surviving mothers and fathers via the guy who pointed out him. you're saying that his lady chum advised them this because of the fact of a drug brought about get away that he equipped for himself. i'll assume via that staement that he by no ability saved in touch along with his kinfolk, advised his lady chum that there became no person else jointly as he became together with her and by no ability intorduced her to anyone. So she advised police what she easily knew. that they had no reason to doubt her. The police can not open an discover ways to locate on the spot kinfolk on each and every guy or woman who dies. the guy you ought to direct your anger at is your brother. He provided himself as having no longer something to do along with his kinfolk and whilst he died that could desire to be the way he needed it. additionally, in case you're harm via his dying, why did no longer you're making the attempt to touch him jointly as he became alive? I doubt you will possibly have a case in court docket.
