You are lucky if you have the gift of the gab. I haven't - even though i've kissed the Blarney Stone!
Gift of the gab means you can talk to anyone about anything! and also use your talent to wiggle out of difficult situations, and charm the birds out of the trees!

gift of the gab means you talk a lot and talk yourself out of any situation.......there was a guy alive in victorian times cant remember his name anyhoo he had great success with the ladies but he was as ugly as sin.....some jealous guy asked him his secret of his success.he just laughed and said give me ten mins alone with a female and i can talk away my face...........proving he had the gift of the gab.........the other guy pondered this and tried it himself coz he was ugly too...didnt work for him so he asked the first guy what was he doing wrong.....the reply was the first guy was also extremely rich ....goes to prove how shallow people were and still are when it comes to looks...anyhoo i'm talking a lot again..have i the gift of the gab...............dunno but i do talk a lot and i'm a very good salesman.........i think you have got to be a people person coz if you aint you cant pretend that you are and people arent stupid they will realise that...........what was the question again.............lol

It means you are never at a loss for words and know the answer to everything. It's not always meant as a compliment.

It means you are clever with your words. You could sell ice to the eskimo's because you could talk them in to it. My mate has got it big time. It's a good attribute to have.

no, but I wish I had. Always thought that it referred to someone who could wangle themselves into or out of situations with ease AND with the desired outcome in the end.
