Sorry for stating the obvious, If you cut a piece of toast in half, and still eat the two pieces, you are in effect eating the same poiece of toast. It only works when you cut a piece of toast in half AND eat only one half. Then and only then will you be eating half the calories.

cut anything in 1/2 with calories you will consume 1/2 the calorie
It takes longer than 3 days to show results
you don't say if you have increased your level of activity or are you just deleting a 1/2 slice of bread

only if you eat one half..good ideal go buy this bread called nickles 35 white or whole wheat and you can eat the whole slice and have the same amount of cal. you can even eat two slices and have less then 1 slice of reg..bread
