Nuclear power and hydro-electric are the only ones that make sense.

It takes more energy to produce a wind turbine and a solar panel than they will create in their design life.

There are many many ways of generating energy other than petroleum products. So why are there none readily available ?
The answer is simple. Every inventor of alternative ways has been offered a handsome reward for not pursuing his/her new invention. Offered by the petroleum companies to take the money and shelve the project.
Petroleum is closely connected with Politics. Only the rich and powerful call the shots.

there are several ways of generating energy green methods include bio/gobar gas, collecting methane from sewage water and using as gas, wind energy, hydro, nuclear energy solar energy.
bio/gobar gas can work in small units say for a house

Other than the ones already listed, bio-fuels are being seen as the way forward for energy - using non-food crops as fuel sources.

Solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and nuclear. These are renewable energy resources, as the source will never run out.

Biodiesel using old veg chip oil (sunflower oil) is a popular one, and you can run your automobile on it. Smarty Pants who works in the energy dept didn't mention that.
